Ingredients

  • 1 package of saltine crackers about 4 sleeves or a bag of oyster crackers
  • 1 cup oil fresh is best
  • 1 1 oz packet of dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1-2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes adjust to your preferred spice level
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder optional, for extra flavor
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • Prepare the Crackers: Place the saltine crackers or oyster crackers in a large mixing bowl or a gallon-sized zip-top bag.
  • Mix the Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine the vegetable oil, ranch seasoning mix, crushed red pepper flakes, and garlic powder. Stir well to blend all the flavors.
  • Coat the Crackers: Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers. If using a mixing bowl, gently toss the crackers with a spatula to ensure they’re evenly coated. If using a zip-top bag, seal the bag and give it a good shake, turning it several times to coat all the crackers.
  • Marinate: Spread the seasoned crackers out on a large baking sheet in an even layer. Let them sit at room temperature for about an hour, stirring every 15 minutes to make sure they absorb all the flavorful oil.
  • Serve or Store: Once the crackers have soaked up the seasoning and are nicely coated, they’re ready to eat! Store them in an airtight container or resealable bag at room temperature for up to a week.

Notes

Ranch mixes are now available in a spicy version and we love to use it in this recipe.
